Small tiles, although potentially saleable, are made as test tiles. I'm always testing clay bodies, glazes, colours, decoration techniques and image themes. They often end up being informal and spontaneous and can provide a window into the workings of the studio. For me they are indispensable reference material. This selection is from 2018 and 2019 and the interesting thing is that unintentionally they are all porcelain and not stoneware with crackle slip.
